Many people think that anyone can teach first aid. While many can, there are some who think that anyone can teach them this and that they can get certified too. So, many wonder with teaching first aid: who can I teach first aid to? This is the question of the hour.
Now, you can teach first aid to almost anyone. That is to say, it’s nice to know how to do this. Everyone should know how to do first aid. With that in mind though, there are some who need to get certified in first aid. They cannot take classes from just anyone and be certified by anyone.
In order for them to be able to take classes from you when certification is a factor, you would have to get the certification yourself. You can take this class at any Red Cross as well as some hospitals might offer them for a registration fee. When you get this, you can then teach it to those who might need the certification for work or whatever use they have for it.

You might offer basic training in classrooms to middle schools and high schools. There are other places as well that are best for teaching.
Many kids who are in Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts will require that these be completed so that they get a badge. Not only are you helping them out, but you are doing something great as you might be giving them the resources they need in order to save someone’s life when it really counts. This is something great.
You should make sure that people in your family know how to do this. It’s nice to know because as we all know, anything can happen at any time. You have to be prepared. Part of being prepared is to know what to do while you are waiting for the paramedics to show up. This is something that you should seriously consider.
Those working on risky jobs such as a pool lifeguard, construction, or elsewhere will often times be mandated to be certified in first aid. Therefore, if you are not qualified and have the card to prove it, then you cannot teach them for you don’t have the qualifications needed to teach such course.
Those who have taken the certified classes themselves should only be the ones who should teach others as well no matter if this is a certified class or not. The reason for this is because, you have to have knowledge and you really should be teaching them the proper way to perform these things as if they aren’t taught correctly, they can further hurt a person.

ACLS Class Tips

Looking for and having to take an ACLS class can be a pain in the rear. They are either full, out of the area, or the instructors lecture may as well be in Cantonese. To help ease the stress of having to locate and take an ACLS provider course you should keep a few things in mind:

• Think ahead. If you are already a certified ACLS provider you shouldn't wait until the last minute to try and re certify. This will increase you ACLS stress 10 fold. After all you could be suspended from work until you come back with a card. For some of you, that could amount to a nice chunk of change off your paycheck. Ouch!
• Make sure you are taking a class that issues the right certification for you. AHA ACLS is no longer the only program out there. However, some old school organizations require their employees to have only AHA. That's like saying because you have taken an AHA ACLS class, we know you are competent. NOT! I won't even get started on that one. Anyway, just be sure that you know exactly what kind of card you need BEFORE you take the class.
• Know where you are going. Ummm....this is a huge one. If you are trying to find your way to a class at the last minute, (having never been there) you have issues. Google maps is very easy to use.
  
  
  Lastly, show up for class early and meet some people. This will take the edge off the situation and if you are not an ACLS guru, you may have just met someone that can help you through the tight spots, especially if your instructor is a Nazi.
